Phoenix Zoo

This morning we visited the Phoenix Zoo. It is amazing. The first thing you see when walking into the park is the savanna, which has giraffes, ostritches, vultures, watusi cattle, and elands. Alistair called the watusi cattle and rhinoceroses "cows".

When looking at the babbons, one of the baboons walked right up to the glass, sat down and just looked at Alistair. Maybe because he was interested because Alistair is the same size.

The highlight of our zoo visit was feeding the giraffes (although Alistair might argue that the highlight was seeing the excavator parked by a exhibit under construction). Alyssa fed the giraffes lettuce and then some giraffe snacks. Colin also fed the giraffe snacks.

After a bite to eat, we saw the squirrel monkeys. Alistair was a little concerned because the monkeys are climbing and running around only a few feet away.
