Alistair has loved music, ever since he was a baby. He would smile when Alyssa sang him silly songs. He asks Alyssa to sing during cuddle time before bed. He loves music class at school, and he has started to sing parts of songs - The Wheels on the bus, The ABC's, Row Row Row Your Boat, Head and Shoulders Knees and Toes, etc. Today, as we was settling down for naps, he was singing a song by the Kaiser Chiefs. We heard "Ruby, Ruby, Ruby. Aaahhhhh," coming from his room.
When Alyssa drives Alistair to and from daycare or if we're driving around, we listen to NPR or CD's that we've compiled. One afternoon, after The Killer's "Human" played, Alistair said "More Hands are Cold song." He had picked up on one line of lyrics, "My sign is vital, my hands are cold." Most songs are about abstract things, but perhaps he could relate to cold hands. Now when we get into the car to go anywhere, he asks for "The Hands are Cold song," and when it's finished, "Ruby, Ruby song."
